Guitar-driven rock. Big hooks. Honest songs. A band that's designed for the stage.

Aaron Skiles makes the kind of rock music that doesn't need much explanation once the amps come on. The songs are melodic and immediate, the guitars are loud, and the lyrics deal with the things that actually matter—love, loss, mistakes, second chances, getting wiser, and trying to make sense of the whole damn thing.

Based in the Bay Area, Skiles is currently touring behind ANGELS, DEMONS & COIN FLIPS, his fourth solo album and his most ambitious release to date. Released in August 2026, the record builds on the raw, guitar-heavy sound of his previous work while adding bigger production, sharper hooks and a broader sonic range. Co-produced with Josh Jové—whose guitar work includes Eagles of Death Metal, The Shelters, and recording and touring with Social Distortion—the album pushes Skiles' sound forward without sanding off the rough edges.

And people are paying attention.

ANGELS, DEMONS & COIN FLIPS is generating more radio play and press than any previous Skiles release. In the first weeks of the album's radio campaign, the record picked up seven new station adds, including three ranked among the stations' Top 10 Adds. It reached #1 Most Added at WCNI in New London, Connecticut, and charted as high as #12 at WTCC in Springfield, Massachusetts. The songs have also received repeated heavy rotation at stations across California, Texas, Connecticut, Massachusetts and elsewhere, along with airplay in the UK.

The album is getting attention from the press as well. The Daily Vault, Return of Rock, From The Strait, Yellow & Black, A Song in Life and other outlets have all weighed in on the new record, with reviewers consistently pointing to its combination of guitars, hooks, melody and direct songwriting.

What They're Saying

“This album ROCKS, hard and steady!”
— Jason Warburg, The Daily Vault

“Aaron Skiles sounds as though he has tightened everything that was already working.”
— Return of Rock

“Aaron Skiles has put together an album worth listening to on repeat.”
— From The Strait

“The strong guitars, sharp drums, memorable melodies, and powerful singing make this one of those records I will happily return to again and again.”
— Yellow & Black

That momentum is carrying over to the stage.

In July 2026, the Aaron Skiles Band played Saturday in the Park in Sioux City, Iowa, one of the Midwest's established outdoor music festivals. The band took the Abe Stage on a bill that also featured Tech N9ne, 2Dead Boyz and Discrepancies. For a band coming out of the Bay Area, it was another step in a touring schedule that is steadily taking the music farther from home.

The current record is the latest step in a run of increasingly ambitious releases. WRECKAGE FROM THE FIRE (2022) was co-written and produced with Matt Patton of the Drive-By Truckers and recorded at Patton's Dial Back Sound in Mississippi. The album earned an 8/10 from Uncut and appeared on several year-end lists.

Its follow-up, WHISTLE PAST THE GRAVE, featured lead guitar from Taylor Hollingsworth, known for his work with Conor Oberst and the Mystic Valley Band and Dead Fingers. The album was recognized by Americana Highways readers as Album of the Year.

But the records are only half the story.

Aaron Skiles is a songwriter who likes rock music best when it's filled with emotion, a little raw and completely alive. The band brings that same approach to the stage: loud guitars, big choruses, plenty of energy and songs that are built to connect with an audience.

ANGELS, DEMONS & COIN FLIPS is out now. Aaron Skiles is touring now. And the band is looking for the next stage.
